Sadly King and Wilson did not meet our expectations. At least one of the "packers" was not experienced - some of our fragile items had little or no packing and some of the non fragile items had so much wrapping it was ridiculous. A fragile antique doll was placed at the bottom of a box and squashed with bags. We had a damaged china cabinet and table due to bad packing, furniture was delivered very late on the day it was due to a previous job running over time. Due to late delivery, no unpacking occurred. We asked King and Wilson, as a gesture of good faith to make up for damage which was their fault, if they would pay our insurance excess and they refused. Compared to our other moves (international, around the corner and interstate) KIng and Wilson definitely did not meet up to their reviews or sales pitch.

I am not a happy customer and I'm fed up with writing emails to King and Wilson who never respond to or acknowledge! I have an outstanding, ongoing insurance claim against King and Wilson for damage to my furniture caused by your negligence and cheap packing materials. When I think of the thousand of dollars I've spent with your company, shame on you! But you have made time to send me a cheesy letter inviting me to do a survey! I will be delighted to take your survey and give you a well deserved damning review and seek out the contact details for Andrew Wilson, your Owner and MD.

When I called 27th April for quotes, Kingandwilson told me that I called just time for 29th ship departing to Singapore. So my family rushed to meet their deadline. They didn’t bothered to ask us to countersign the cargo they took from us. Later we found out this is sub-sub-sub contracted out to 3rd party. They told me it will take 1 month to reach Singapore. As I had shipped from UK to Malaysia before and it is common for ship to have several stop, I think nothing about the 1 month shipment until I found out they lied. It takes apparently ALL ship from Sydney to Singapore only 2 weeks to sail.

I emailed them repeatedly for the ship tracker but no reply. Suddenly on 22nd May (!!) KingandWilson contacted me saying they have not received my payment and therefore have not loaded my cargo. I was shocked and asked why weren’t my email replied earlier. They side-stepped the question and insist I pay again because the ship is set to sail the next day (again). They again promised the shipment will still arrive end of May 29th.

Given their dubious nature, I called to asked them photography evidence that my cargo is safe and complete. K.Sicat insist she has personally checked everything and the ship has sailed. Again, ship tracker is refused. After escalating the matter further up, it turn out that the ship has never left the port. They couldn’t find enough business to load their containers from April 30th till June so were tricking people with ‘imminent sailing’ techniques. The ship finally left the port on 29th and by then their manager has exaggerated their ‘large size’ warehouse as excuse why the photos weren’t taken. I have no doubt kingandwilson as with the sub-sub-sub collection courier, that they too do not own the warehouse and therefore cannot guarantee safety of cargo.

My child was very ill and in need of medication. I had bring enough just for the arrival of ship as end of June but not much longer than that. And he is now hospitalized. We also lost a lot of money (>2k$) as we had to vacate our rental based on the date pushed by KingsandWilson. Daniel promised my cargo will get priority clearing once it reaches Singapore and meanwhile blames me for not stocking enough medicine. He backtracked 300 compensation to 200$. When the cargo reached, their sg counterpart (independent 3rd party) explained there is no such thing as priority clearing and their calendar is full. They will deliver my cargo when there is availability which is another 2 weeks. As I explained to them the disastrous situation kingandwilson put me into, the sg company tried their best to slot me as personal favour. This SG Company is too shocked at kingandwilson behavior and is happy for their names to be mentioned to substantiate my story.

2 months, my cargo from Sydney has still not arrive Singapore. No doubt if the cargo arrive incomplete, kingsandwilson will fallback to the non-existant collection notice. No proof they had lost our stuff. D.Butler had refused point blank they will not be responsible for my child or any cost involved due to their relocation issues.

Never ever trust their word. Their staff tell lies to get sales, and their managers are sneaky with politically correct carefully crafted words to oil themselves out. Daniel in particular is extremely careful not to leave anything in writing.

Service cost: $980

A French friend used these turkeys to ship personal goods back to France. They shipped it via UK in transit to Lyon. Their sub-contracter in UK demanded equiv of 750 euro customs duty and VAT before they would onship and threatened to charge storage as well if she didn't pay up immediately!
No official bill from UK customs and none due on personal goods anyway even if the stuff was staying in UK - but this was going to France!
When queried King and Wilson said nothing could be done. RUBBISH!
These people should have known about the customa and tax rules in UK - this episode is a good inducator that they are incompetent. Don't use then at any price. When I get the evidence that no taxea or custom was due I intend to pass this onto police.

Service cost: $1500

Only getting one star because I can't give them none. AWFUL! Never EVER again. If you are thinking of using them - DON'T!! The first communication I get from them was rude, demanding payment without telling me what it was for, and filled with spelling mistakes including basic words like "customs". I said that I found them rude, but never got an explanation or apology, just more of the same. I tried to change receiving shippers, but was told I had to go with these rude incompetents. When the guys came to deliver my stuff (some of which was broken, but they refused to acknowledge my emails or recognize my insurance) they blocked the road, smelled bad, and after boasting about how they knew people in my building, stole my pass. The delivery man I had given the pass to I spoke with and he acknowledged that he hadn't given it back to me, but then they all changed their story and even the guy who wasn't in the room started lying that HE had given it to me! When I tried to speak to the Operations Manager about it and asked that they at least replace the pass ($150) he was abusive and started threatening me with all sorts of ridiculous charges that he would start to level against me if I wanted them to pay to replace the stolen property! I have had the pass cancelled quickly and report it to the police. Rude, thieving, unethical and abusive. If you value your belongings, home, security or sanity do yourself a favour and go with ANYONE else.

Strongly recommend against using King and Wilson. Moved from Sydney to Melbourne and had lots of items damaged in the move, including walls in our newly renovated home. We paid a lot for insurance and have had nothing back. Have sent several emails and made lots of calls but hear nothing from Emily or Rhonda in the Melbourne office. Even tried contacting the MD, but still no response. The sales person told me it is a family company that cares but operation department have been unprofessional and seem disorganised. Sergio has been helpful.

At almost every step of our move, King and Wilson was incompetent or simply didn't care.

They have a corporate culture that just doesn't care for the customer after they have their money.

K&W outsource everything but won't maintain adequate controls and governance.

K&W broke promises, refused to return calls, didn't provide services paid for, and damaged our goods.

And they're not cheap.

After being assured it would be a smooth move and I wouldn't have to do anything, I had to step in personally at each step to resolve issues that K&W created through their laziness or inattention.

I've moved with a score of removalists over the years and the experience with K&W was far and away the worst.

I wouldn't recommend them to move a doghouse.

Terrible customer service. Unhelpful and rude staff in the office and in the packing team. Unprofessional packing service, there was not much care taken with how items were packed. Damages to furniture, art and appliances, and items were missing on delivery. All and all, it was a Very poor service provided by them, we regret using King and Wilson and wish we had shipped with another more professional company. I would NOT recommend their services and we will NEVER use this company again.

Dreadful company. Were booked to pack as well, when the things arrived they had inflated the size of shipment by packing "carelessly", like using one medium sized lamp in heaps of packing for one box that could have fitted another metre square of stuff in it. They lost two suitcases of mine containing sentimental items like my son's new born clothes that I has kept. Expensive linen also missing. Staff in England were rude, heartless and really didn't care, I was treated like a piece of dirt and made to feel stupid. I had to reship the same amount a few months later (exactly the same stuff, packed), and the next company was half the price. NEVER GO WITH KING AND WILSON.

Very unimpressed with the level of service. Representative was extremely unresponsive and misquoted the original price of the shipment - we were then hit with a significant increase in the price several weeks after we had already paid for the shipping.
Also found the representative and her colleagues fairly unknowledgeable about the specific information requirements to complete a transfer of residence application which one would think they would be pretty familiar with. Would not recommend this company - it is cheap but not worth the added stress.

Move size: Partial Move Service cost: $580

Good, friendly service at the beginning (the phone and email organisation). And it was great the way the company moved home and office items (2 locations on both ends of the move). And provided boxes and packaging tape etc. But when it came to the move, not satisfied. On the upload day the removalists were rushing and trying to carry too many items at once, which resulted in some damaged items from dropping, scraping, etc. Several plastic storage boxes broken (despite me trying to minimise any inconvenience for the removalists). They used a metal hammer to dislodge the bed frame so when metal hit metal paint was removed. There was not as much care taken as would be expected which gave me the feeling that this was not a professional removalist team but some hired hands.
Insurance only covers items set out in the agreement and it seems that removalists do not take responsibility for damaging goods in good faith.
A higher rate was paid for this to be a premium sole use container service however when the truck was being unloaded another job lot of furniture etc. was present and some had to be first removed before unloading my belongings. This cause concern about having a mixed load, and the possibility of having items mixed up, not to mention it was not the premium sole use container service that was paid for. This caused some anxiety. Having written to the company about these concerns there was no response to most issues and no offer to cover replacement costs of damaged items.

I’ve recieved terrible service after my items were picked up and would highly recommend NOT using King & Wilson for your move. First off, I was guaranteed a specific date when my items would arrive to be able to secure the job and was only notified the day before that my items were left behind in Sydney. When they finally got around to actually moving my items, I had several big pieces broken and damaged. The movers attributed this to poor packing of the container my items were being shipped in. To make matters worse, the move coordinator along with his manager have been ignoring me ever since issues arose. All calls and emails have been ignored which adds to my frustration of how King & Wilson has managed my move. To avoid the headache and hassle, do not use this company.

It is now 3 months since my belongings where picked up in Sydney. A series of broken promises and horrible customer service later I'm still waiting for the job to be completed. I could not recommend a service to you less.

Do yourself and your family a favour and choose a more reputable company who have even the slightest care for what it means to not have access to your home contents. I should be compensated, but I'd say it's more likely King & Wilson go into liquidation before that happens.

1) King and Wilson asked me to remain at home for delivery of my bag on 2 specified days, it never arrived.
2) I was then informed my bag had been derived to another company by them for purposes of delivery, and in fact LOST.
My items were shipped from England at a high cost to me. There is no offer of reimbursement for this fee. No insurance (which I had to pay for at a percentage rate of the cost of the items, so of course estimated less expecting damage to be the worst outcome) could possibly cover the financial costs of the items, let alone replace them.
I'd strongly advise seeking another company, or asking any connected companies to not utilise King & Wilson.

Where do I start?
We chose them over Crown due to the persuasive representation and their insistence that they were experts in moving valuable paintings
This company does not do cheap (by price) removals
We paid an awful lot to move interstate from NSW to QLD with a full service packing and unpacking service
In brief the packing seemed to go well and took maybe an average of 5 staff over two full days to load the containers
When we got to our new home a completely different company delivered the containers - 3 staff on the truck, the lead and driver very ill tempered
Two of the paintings badly damaged, one desk broken, one leg of an antique table smashed off, bone china crockery broken and several items not even delivered- nearly 2 weeks later we finally got a date for the delivery of the balance but we had the nerve to be out that day
We were required to do all the unpacking as the lead/ driver kept telling me that he had gone over his hours and would be breaking the law
Needless to say the after sales service has matched the removal service
We were given a $300 refund - small change for a $13k bill

Problems includ
- third party contract packers
- initially look cheaper compared to competition but then packed double amount quoted, so charged double the initial quote.. so they are more expensive in the end
- packing done extremely inefficiently. Half the boxes filled with paper / bubble wrap only.. dead space you are charged for. This includes items that are not fragile and can’t be broken
- contractors saying last job they worked on, customer said all their expensive items were broken during delivery
- cannot give estimated date of delivery
- third party suppliers for unpacking on location
- broken items received.
